The Apple Design Awards, held at Moscone West during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, recognize technical excellence, innovation, and outstanding achievement in software development.
This year’s Apple Design Awards at the WWDC included a range of new awards for iPhone applications and categories. We’ll probably make a mention or two of a few of the winners over the next few days (as I try to catch up on lots of news after some unwanted downtime), but it’s awfully nice to see one very familiar ‘face’ scooping a big award straight away, and a richly deserving one in my view.

One of my long-time favorite iPhone web apps (and just application full stop), Remember The Milk, has grabbed the inaugural award for Best iPhone Web Application. RTM is a hugely feature-rich and complete program for to-do list management on the iPhone, with a gorgeous and super user-friendly interface.
I’ve still not heard any noises to indicate a native App Store version of RTM is on the horizon just yet, but I very much hope that something is quietly in the works for this. One thing’s for sure – the web version is already a great program and will take some beating, even from local app competition …
