In the largest Cellular market in the world, who has always had the most advanced cellular devices and networks – if only 9% want the iPhone, that isn’t success.

If you take the number 11.5 million and look at it in terms of US/Canada, then it looks good – but only if that were US/Canada users. In Japanese terms, that does not seem successful by any means.

Its a case of comparing Apples to Apples vs Apples to Oranges.

Just my two cents – what is your take on it Ted?

Fact is, 9% of the Japanese want an iPhone! That’s HUGE…

The Japanese have never had access to such a modern cell phone, so once it hits the streets they will be amazed by it’s technical abilities. 9% of 127,433,494 people is 11,469,014… and no mater how you slice it, that’s plenty of new iPhones coming to Japan.

Keep in mind, phone in the US and Canada are piss poor. Think of it like this… when we in the West donate clothes/books to third world countries, we give them our unwanted items. The US and Canada are the 3rd world countries of technology, specifically Cell Phones.
