TUAW have been cranking out daily news items the last few days rounding up some interesting applications due to be coming to the iPhone App Store soon. Each day has included some apps that have left me yawning and some that I’m really psyched to see show up.
iSharephone is definitely in the latter category – as it promises to bring full Sharepoint access to the iPhone. Here’s part of the app’s description from the developer’s web-site:
Webstate’s iSharephone is developed with the iPhone SDK. It can soon be installed directly from the iPhone App Store. iSharephone works asynchronous, which means that even if your connection isn’t good, you can still view Sharepoint content. Advanced compression algorithms make iSharephone faster then a normal web application and makes it able to handle more data with less bandwidth.
This should be a big deal for lots of iPhone corporate users, and it will be very interesting to see how well this one works when it comes out. I have not seen any pricing information as yet – but the developers are aiming to have it ready for the App Store by August / September time.
The Webstate website has got more background on the program, and a sign-up form if you want to be kept informed on the latest news and progress on iSharephone ..
