I’m hoping we’ll make this type of post a regular feature over the next few weeks – giving a quick look at which iPhone jailbreak developers (and individual apps) will be crossing over to the App Store arena, and which will remain only in the jailbreak environment.

Today I wanted to mention the jailbreak / App Store plans status for Databinge – one of my favorite iPhone jailbreak developers.  Databinge have produced a number of solid, (very) frequently updated and popular programs, including two that are virtually must-have programs by now if you’re jailbroken: Timecapsule for iPhone backup and moleskine, the feature-rich Notes application.

I will continue to make them available via Installer/Cydia. Will try  to make all my applications compatible with new firmwares whenever they are released. I may take some time though.

The good news is that Databinge will be developing new applications for the App Store.  No word yet on specific apps that are under development or being planned, but it’s very good to know that HC has ambitions in this direction as well.  I’ll be keen to hear more – and share more – as these plans develop …
