3G iPhone vs iPhone: Spot the difference!

Posted on 23 Jun 2008 by Thomas

Alright, so the 3G iPhone is coming out on July 11. It’s got faster data speeds, GPS, and a lower base price. Sounds all good so far, eh?

But let’s take a look at a 3G iPhone (from Apple’s site):

and quickly compare it to the 1st gen iPhone:

Despite the large contrast in picture quality, do you notice anything missing in the first picture? Something white and attached to the base maybe? Alas, the 3G iPhone will be cheaper partly because Apple is removing the white dock (which is a superficial accessory, but still awesome). The dock is now an extra for around $49.

Personal pessimistic prediction: 4G iPhone will have fantastic data speeds, an iPhone 3.0 firmware, and a plastic screen. You can then upgrade to a glass screen for the low, low price of $49. I know, I’m being a smartass. :P

this is funny when I bought my first iPod after a very hard, very hard summer of yard work it came with the following,
    dock
FireWire cord ( I know old school )
    a belt clip
    headphones
    Wall charger
When my gf bought hers 1 yr later all she got was a iPod and headphones and USB cord.

It would not surpise me if they start coming without the headphones.. Shoot I’m surprised we still get the little apple stickers :p
