well almost every “wall-e” garbage disposal units are crashed, and the only one model survived. I dont care what kind of chim noise this robot makes,its was a complete failure. its must be a PC,but i will be on the safe side and say it was a hybrid model

I took my 7yr old son to see Wall-E last night!!!! It was fantastic! We really enjoyed it!

When Wall-E has a problem and has to be ‘rebooted’

HE IS A MACINTOSH!!!!! right there… in the middle of a packed movie house was that unmistakable Mac Startup sound!
I nearly jumped out of my movie seat and shouted HE IS A MACINTOSH, but sat there with a big ‘knowing’ grin!!!
(ya ya ya, sad Mac user, I hear you say) I managed to whisper it to my son, I said “hey bunny, Wall-E is a Macintosh!” he turned to me and said “yeah great Mom”, totally lost to it… so I thought, ahhh well… what does a 7yr know… but we get home… and my Husand says to him, “AND? how was the movie?” My son says, all excited!!!! “WALL-E is a MAC Dad!!!”

say no more!

So here i am… proud to be a mac user!

I noticed the chime when his solar cells fully charged, but I still think Wall-E is like a PC with a MAC OS while EVE is a retail MAC. My reasoning for this is because Wall-E is made up of several pieces and he can easily fix himself by replacing parts. EVE is like an all out MAC, which is obvious by her looks, but they follow up with the repair analogy later when they send EVE off for diagnostics and repair, just like how when something goes wrong with a MAC it has to be sent out.

I have it on good authority that some part of wall-e’s little interface thing is exactly like that of the old-skool macs.
supposedly my friend saw a daft punk refernce somewhere in the movie? no clue

I’d call it more of a chime, and yes, steve jobs owns pixar and it is a mac only company. I didn’t see the ipod, I’ll have to watch it again. 😀

Can anyone confirm which Mac tone WALL-E uses? If you get the program Mactracker, you can listen to the startup tones from each and every Mac. I’ve been listening but I can’t quite pinpoint it…

Well, Wall-E IS basically a garbage disposal with personality–what would be the point of making him aesthetically pleasing? The citizens of Axiom are never supposed to actually see Wall-E, so there’s no reason for the B&L company to throw money at aesthetics there. *just saw the movie last night* But good ol’ Mac wiring makes him sweet!

Wall-E and Eve are macs!! The chime is EXACTLY the mac the chime, and only macs could be as pretty as eve. I do admit, wall-e looks like a microsoft hunk of junk, but microsoft would never produce a robot as sweet as wall-e <3

Well, I didn’t even here anything about this until taking my son to see the movie yesterday and when I saw Eve I was like WHOA that looks like my mac! Then near the end of the film when wall-e reboots it was like um…..thats the osx bootone – but yeah it was pretty obvious to me and when I googled when I got home I guess everyone else thought the same thing – great flick – cheers

Eve’s main designer was NOT Ives. He was brought in as a consultant.

I would call Wall•E’s boot sound a “chime”. And, it’s an old scratchy “chime”, not the new richer one.

The iPod used as the video playback device upon which “Hello, Dolly!” was shown is not a 1st-Gen device. It has to be an iPod Video, otherwise, how do they show video? Where Wall•E pulls a magnifying screen in front of the iPod, reminds me of the movie Brazil.

Wall-E and Eve are both Macs! Eve’s bio-sleep mode is definitely like the sleep mode on a Mac. She must be a white MacBook. I wouldn’t mind a pair of lasers to go with mine…

“One shouldn’t be surprised if there are many design cues reminiscent of Mac design. Steve Jobs owns 7% of Disney stock, and sits on their board of directors (Disney owns Pixar). Naturally I’m sure he has some pull.”

More importantly, Pixar is/was Job’s company.

Yes, WALL•E makes the Mac bootup noise on reset.

There is an iPod used as a video playback device.

And when you look between Eve’s head and her body there is a sort of cycling series of lines arranged in a circle a bit like the OSX preboot cycle.
