You can easily justify buying an iPhone and the cost if you really want the iPhone. End of the day, every Canadian knows the prices for anything cellular in this country are unfair, especially those that have spent time outside Canada. Until the consumer is willing to sacrifice their wants to teach the company’s to offer better options, we will continue to be in this rut.

To get the service level I want through AT&T I’d be paying $25 or more than what I’ll be paying through Fido

I for one will be picking one up. standard price for the iphone, the contract is a little long, but not that unusual.

Honestly, I’d love it if no one bought an iPhone the first few months just to show Rogers that the customer is who matters, not their dictatorship. Alas, we all know that to be cool people will fight over it just to show off, and no point will be made to Rogers by the consumer.

Consumers in Canada must realize that we hold the dollars, and the only way to get what we want is to speak with our money. I for one, won’t be buying an iPhone until the price-point is $99, no contract, and unlmited data at $20 seems fair to me. Anything over that is over priced IMO.

I mean, not so fun if you’re clambering for an iPhone on the 11th…”

“clamber |?klamb?r; ?klam?r|
verb [ intrans. ]
climb, move, or get in or out of something in an awkward and laborious way, typically using both hands and feet : I clambered out of the trench.”

Should read: “…Apple sticking it to Rogers, you have to love that. I mean, not so fun if you’re clamoring for an iPhone on the 11th…”

“clam·or (klmr)
n.
1. A loud outcry; a hubbub.
2. A vehement expression of discontent or protest: a clamor in the press for pollution control.
3. A loud sustained noise.”

Second, the initial report was slightly exaggerated. Certain Rogers stores have let extra part time employees go. This is not a decision from corporate headquarters.
