Legends – iPhone eBooks Reader Coming To The App Store

ZappTek is partnering with today’s hottest writers to bring you LegendseBooksthe best in cutting-edge fiction for your reading enjoyment. Legends brings the full reading experience to the iPhone and iPod touch. Easy to read, scalable text, with triple-tap inversion for low-light reading, Legends puts your library in your pocket. Each book shows up as an icon on your Home screen, opens to your last read page, has bookmarks, lets you make your own, plus make notes as you go. It’s the look and feel of a book, with the ease of the iPhone.

eBook readers are one of the types of iPhone applications that seem like they  have great potential to be instant hits when the App Store opens – especially if they are done well and offer a good selection of titles.

Legends looks like it may have a lot to offer in terms of usability, with features including:

  • Double tapping lets you zoom in and you can rotate your iPhone to read any way you like.
  • The iPhone’s amazing screen makes it easy to read and if you’re reading in low light, simply triple tap to invert the display.
  • When you need to change songs or answer the phone the book will automatically remember where you’ve left off. Additionally, you can bookmark any page you may want to revisit later.
  • You can even add in your own notes for each and every page.

I’m not too keen on the idea of storing each book on the home screen, as that could get quite messy quite quickly, especially if you’re also adding a lot of apps to your iPhone – but hopefully there are other options offered for how to organize / store your titles.

Selection of titles sounds like it may be pretty limited at the outset as well, but if this can be grown quickly, Legends looks a promising option for ebooks on the iPhone.
