My Life Record Family EditionWhen I first noticed this app it really caught my eye. ‘Wonder what this is?’ I thought… I was intrigued, and had to check it out.

Turns out that My Life Record Family Edition is an app that lets you manage your medical records… and more. The app claims to use Patent Pending technologies that enable you to maintain, view and organize your medical records on the iPhone or iPod Touch.

I can hear you saying ‘Ok, how the heck do you get your medical records into the software???’ A very good question… that was my first question as well. Turns out that My Life Record has an easy to use function that allows you to get your medical records from your doctor and into the app with ease. All you need to do is touch an icon within the app, and your iPhone will provide you with a fax number and code. Provide the fax number and code to your doctor, and all your doctor will need to do is print or write that code on the front of the fax and fax your chart. My Life Record will take the chart and tie it to your My Life Record profile, instantly creating an exact copy of your medical chart right on your device. If you’re worried about this being too much of a hassle for your physician, you shouldn’t be… This process is a simple fax, and he/she would have to do no more than he or she would wen giving your record to another physician for treatment or recommendations.

Privacy was a huge priority for the developers at Life Record. Information is never sold and industry standard encryption on your records is maintained. For more info on their privacy policy click here.

This is an insanely powerful tool to say the least. Having your medical record on hand, whenever you need it could be invaluable. Going on a long vacation to a far away place? Make sure you have your latest records in-hand, and off you go!

    I got this app when it came out. In fact, several people bought iPhones just for this app that I know personally.

    This makes things SO easy to get your medical record from doctors and I always know what is in my record.

    It’s almost magical how things just show up. I was actually AT my doctor’s office when they faxed the record… I was in the exam room and was showing him the program and right in front of my eyes the record showed up while showing my doctor.

    If you have health issues or want to make sure you have your health files with you when you need them, this is a life saver. I love it.

    I purchased this app for my IPHONE and have been unsuccessful of activating it. There must be a secret to it….and I have been unsuccessful of obtainin that secret. If anyone out there can help me I surely will appreciate it.

    I bought this app and went to the trouble of getting all of my medical records sent to MLR who put them into the program. They were available for a short while and then Apple released version 3.0 of the iPhone. When that happened My Life Record stopped working with the new iPhone software. All communication with MLR support has been useless. At first they did say they were working on it, then they just stopped answering the inqueries. The app store is still selling this app at $20. Does anyone know how to get Apple to sit up and notice that an app they approved and is up on their store site for sale doesn’t work?

    First, I would like to identify myself as a representative of Life Record Inc. the makers of the My Life Record PHR for the iPhone and iPod touch.

    The issue you are experiencing has been fixed, we are just waiting for Apple to approve the update. Unfortunately we have no control what so ever on how long Apple takes to approve an update.

    In the mean time, I invite anyone to personally email me if you need access to your medical record. Life Record Inc. will give you (free of charge) a Mac or PC client to access your information.

    A direct email has been set up to deal with this issue until Apple approves the application.
