Built a new ipsw without the activate and it’s working now, syncing my music as we speak, gonna go crash

Restoring now =)

Error 1? Yeah, I got 6 like everybody else. What the heck does (1) even mean?

Did you try un-checking Cydia for installation? That helped some people when making the ipsw. I also heard stuff about clicking only the “activate phone” in the advanced tab, but it seems like you did that in your comment about the baseband.

Ohh — have you tried downloading other people’s working IPSW’s here?

The links are down right now, but they say new ones should be up soon.

Have a completely blank screen, and iTunes gives me the same message as in the iClarified howto.

iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)

Note that it’s not the standard 6 that, as far as I can tell, EVERYONE else gets. I’ve tried every type of ipsw build I could think of. Changed the size, everything from 500 to 1000 in 100mb increments. Tried turning off the baseband update as I don’t really need it unlocked. Nothing works, get that error every time and I can’t find anything online about that pertaining to 2.0.1 or even 2.0. Anyone have any clue what that means?

Doing a standard restore after working on this for 8 hours. I’m giving up until tomorrow =/

In a few seconds you’ll see the connect to Itunes image. Just connect your iphone cable and you are off…

My update went perfectly fine. I just had to repeat it because i forgot to select the darn activate You Tube option…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiTcKMZfyfk

So connect your iPhone and then hold power + home until you hear your computer make the “device disconnected” sound, at which point you let go of the power button. Keep holding on the home button until you hear the ‘device connected’ sound and let go of the home button.

The screen will stay blank, your iPhone will show up in iTunes in recovery mode, and you’ll be in DFU mode and can break out champagne.

I am happy about the new version though. My contacts and calendar open up quickly like they did before. SMS is maybe just a bit faster, but I can’t be sure yet since I have ONE message at the moment, hahaha.

The last time i had to restore several times before it worked. I downloaded 2.0.0.4 like mear seconds after it was posted. Ran though the iClarified how-to as well. Although i didn’t mess with the partition size, i havn’t had a problem with that being too small so far. And worked like a charm. Although, you’d think apple could do something about the restore time. I mean, how long does it take to xfer data over usb2.0?? it took mine almost an hr! Anyways, glad it finally worked for you. I havn’t noticed much of a difference between 2.0 and 2.0.1, txt msging does seem a bit more snappy, but thats about it.
