Alright folks – I’m running way behind on getting this one out the door so I’ll keep things brief because I feel bad about not getting it done when I should have. Anyway, honest truth – I really like almost everything JAVOedge ends up sending us for review, not because they send me stuff, but because they consistently submit great products time and time again. Now, truth also be told I always find a few "trivial" things to complain about, but most times they really are just trivial kind of things that don’t usually hamper the product. They just keep me from sounding like I’m kissing tushy and this is going to be another one of those reviews – because the product is solid.</p>
Naturally – like they always do, JAVOedge sent me one of each color to check out. So basically what you’re seeing in this shot is the backside of both the black skin and the white skin as well as the little poofy Micro Swipes they sent.

Ok, right off the bat I’m going to tell you a couple things. 1. As always click the picture for a bigger version. 2. There’s bound to be a bunch of pictures at the end – so if you see a picture in white and you’d rather see the black one check out the end of the post.
Here’s what I loved: The skin is wonderful. Not too much slip, not too much grip. It really feels good in your hand and even though its a thin case it gives the feeling like it can protect your device in a drop (and it can – more on that in a second). Also, while a bit odd to look at the backside "slats" over a good feel as well adding a bit more "grip" as well as giving the case a different look.
Quick Summary – comfortable in your hand, good protection and good looks.
Here’s what I didn’t love: The bottom edge. Remember the song with the lyrics "cuts like a knife"? Well, this isn’t that bad, but sometimes it feels darned close. This might be an all me kind of thing since I mentioned it to someone else who has the case and that person thought I was nuts. I also don’t get the little "nub" and Micro Swipe thing either. They seem like overkill together. I think I could have been ok with just getting the Micro Swipe and keep the little attachment nub (see the next picture) off. Thankfully the nub is not a permanent feature and can be removed.
Cutouts were good – all in the right places and the case never got in the way of device function.
Again, everything open and where it should be.
Alright, wrapping this up. The case I loved it. Sure the bottom of the case needed a bit of looking into as for me it felt sharp, but I could be crazy. Beyond that I thought the overall form and function was spot on. The case is thin enough to not feel bulky but tough enough to survive a drop. So, you may be asking how do I know it survived a drop? Well, because I gave one of the cases to a co-worker who needed a case. Trust me – he needed a case… because he didn’t have it more than a day or two and he came back to me happy as a clam because the case I gave him kept his phone from being broken when he dropped it onto the concrete at his kid’s practice.
That right there should tell you all you need to know about this case. 1. I liked it and trusted it enough to give one to a person I have to work with every day knowing full well if the case failed I would never hear the end of it and 2. the case kept his phone alive on a drop to concrete.
*Obviously I DO NOT recommend nor warrant the JAVOedge JavoSkin to protect against tossing your iPhone down to the pavement. Especially on purpose… that would just be dumb.
