This is no joke… although, it kind of looks like one doesn’t it? Swedish designer Peter Thuvander has designed a charger for the iPhone and other Apple handheld devices. The charger houses a lithium ion cell and is based on the OLPC crank. He claims it only takes 30 rotations to get going, which is nothing when you charge it using a ‘yo-yo’.
Kind of cool, kind of strange, kind of neat… Definitely green. I could see this being used as an ’emergency kit’ for those times you’re caught with a dead iPhone and no way to charge it. ‘Quick, where’s my yo-yo!?’
