Google Street View and More in iPhone OS 2.2 Update

More leaks on details of the iPhone 2.2 Firmware are coming in daily. Today there is some more great stuff I just have to tell you about.

Early reports from developers tell us that the beta of 2.2 includes a redesigned Safari address bar, and a new version of the App Store application with interface changes and a new bug report feature. Good stuff.

Other features like the automatic text correction are still up in the air. An online petition that contains over 20,000 signatures was setup to urge Apple to give users the option to turn off the iPhone’s text auto-correction. Would seem like a no-brainer to me to include this feature, but as of yet developers haven’t noticed it in the beta.

The update that probably contains the most ‘buzz’ is the update to include Google Street View support. The new feature lets you move and pan your device around to see a mirrored real-time street level panorama of wherever you choose.

All-in-all it’s looking like the iPhone 2.2 OS update will be somewhat significant, so keep your fingers crossed for Apple to release this in the near future.
