I think everyone is a little bit jazzed about the MacBook Event coming up next Tuesday. Ever since the announcement, and even well before it, rumors have been flying around all over the place. In an effort to get them all in one place, here’s a brief roundup of facts and rumors surrounding the event.
Probable Rumors
- The MacBook Air will see a features bump to coincide with the new MacBook and MacBook pro models.
- Look for the new MacBook and MacBook Pros to feature design more in-line with the MacBook Air.
- New models will feature ‘Brick’ construction, where the case is constructed from one piece of aluminum. Should make for a solid device (if true), but I hope access to the ‘guts’ of the system is not hindered.
- All new models may feature an LED-based screen. Apple wants to stay true to its word in going green.
- Reports around the web have Apple offering up a new MacBook line starting at or below $900. I could see that.
Defunct and Doubtful Rumors
- Mr. Blurrycam reared his ugly head again, this time in the form of some MacBook spyshots. They’ve since been proven to be fake.
- Glass iPhone trackpads? Doubt it.
- A new Mac touchscreen tablet still seems to be wanted out there by a select few. I’d be willing to bet against this, but stranger things have happened. You never know.
At any rate, the event will take place on October 14th and the new MacBook line will be unveiled for our pleasure. I’ve received numerous emails and even calls from other Apple bloggers out there to let me know they will be live-blogging the event. I’ll make sure to get a short-list of the best live-blogs to check out come Monday or early Tuesday.
Feel free to leave your comments on things you’d like to see, or new rumors you’ve heard! You can bet that more rumors will be surfacing before Tuesday!
