As with all new products, it’s very common that the first model will have its problems. Even though these products are quality tested before being sold, there are still issues that don’t arise until they end up in the hands of us consumers. It seems that no matter how good Apple may be, even their products have this little glitch, and they’ve started cropping up on the new notebooks.
After reading through the posts over on the MacRumors Forum, it seems many early-adopters of the new aluminum MacBooks and MacBook Pros have started to experience these first revision issues. Many have reported that after removing the cover over the battery/HDD, the cover becomes incredibly loose. Here is a YouTube video of how lose the aluminum cover has become on a MacBook Pro and a picture (right). One user on the forums suggested the new MacBooks should ship with silver duct tape as standard.
Other reported issues feature strange noises from the HDD and fans, failing Bluetooth and warped casings. I’m sure as these products receive future revisions, the issues will all be worked out.
