If you can believe it, the iPhone Dev Team have already broken the 2.2 Firmware… and the firmware hasn’t even been released yet! Looks like the team were working on a beta seeded to developers. My best guess is they took that, picked it apart and did the jailbreaking from there. I certainly hope for the sake of others that nothing changes in the meantime prior to the release of 2.2.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the Dev Team has graced us with a screenshot of a jailbroken and unlocked 1G/2G iPhone running the 2.2 beta 2.
