Earlier today I tried out a new free app from the App Store, called DigiDrummer Lite. I knew I enjoyed the drums (at least in ‘Rock Band’) so I figured heck, it’s free, lets give it a try and see if it is any fun.
The app is simple. Open it up and you’ll see a screen with 8 drumpads to tap. Each drum offers a different percussion instrument/sample for you to tap on. There’s a few tom-tom’s, a kick drum, snare drum and more. Super simple to use, just let your fingers to the tapping to pound out some beats.
I have to admit, it’s fun, but the novelty does wear off after awhile. If I was an actual drummer or someone that might need to actually need to compose or work on things while on-the-go, this app wouldn’t do it for me. To step up to another level, there is a full DigiDrummer version that offers a lot more drumsets, recording capabilities and more.
If you’re looking for a ‘fun’ app and enjoy playing (or, er, tapping) out some beats, go ahead and try out DigiDrummer Lite.
