Amazon have just released their Amazon Mobile application for the iPhone/iPod Touch. This handy little app allows users to conveniently shop on their iPhone with ease. Users have the ability to access wish lists, shopping carts and one-click shopping. Shoppers can also read other customer’s reviews and ratings on products available from Amazon.com and 9,000 other merchants.
The app also includes a handy “experimental” feature called “Amazon Remembers.” This allows users to create a virtual list of things to buy — using the iPhones camera, users can take pictures of products whilst out-and-about to remind them of items they need to purchase. This is ideal if you’re out with your partner and they mention something they’d like for Christmas — you can take a picture of the desired item and remember to make that purchase when they’re not around. The Amazon Mobile app will even use the picture and attempt to find the product online. If successful, they can send you an e-mail with details on their findings. Very impressive!
Other features allow you to compare prices of thousands of products, and even track the status of your order.
This is a fantastic little app and is very impressive. If you’re loved ones have a habit of going through your internet history to try and find out what you’ve bought them for Christmas, this is perfect for discreet shopping. Just don’t leave your iPhone lying around.
