Yay – You Can Also Find BKs and Subway Outlets Via Dedicated iPhone Apps

I posted yesterday on the new (and to me somewhat bizarre) FIND-A-KFC application – which is a dedicated app for helping you stay a(chicken)breast of where the nearest 5 KFC outlets are at any given point in time, given your current location info and all that good stuff.
I don’t know why, but yesterday I thought the KFC app might be a sort of one-off. Well … not so much. Today I noticed another new one in the App Store called SUBFinder (to find the 5 closest Subway outlets), from the same developers who produced the KFC app, iDelux. After doing a quick search, I also found BK Finder (to find the 5 closest Burger King outlets), also from iDelux.
While meandering around that particular section of the App Store, I saw that there a number of apps which are more general ‘fast food finders’. So I guess I’m still as curious as yesterday about whether there is really an audience for the ‘single-chain finder’ sort of app. I just can’t quite picture that many folks being soooo devoted to BK, or KFC, or whichever chain, that they need a dedicated app for it. I may be way off, but I feel happy enough with general restaurant finders. And I would definitely feel like a general fast-food finder would have me covered for this area, if I felt the need for speed, so to speak.
The wonders of the App Store never cease I guess …

Instead of having all these dedicated apps taking up space why don’t you try Restaurant Nutrition.

It has menus for almost all major fast food places and then you can click on Map for a particular restaurant and it will open Google Maps and show you where the nearest locations are. It’s great. I use it when I travel all the time.
I give it 2 thumbs up.
