New iPhone Apps: Duck Shoot

I have an odd taste in games I think. I’m not usually attracted by the most popular action or physics type games. I tend to go for slower-paced games, and some that just strike some sort of odd nostalgia cord with me. The new Duck Shoot app for the iPhone probably falls into that second category, and it caught my eye very late last night, as I’ve always enjoyed this game at local carnivals and fairs – the one where you shoot a ‘pop gun’ at the metal ducks as they roll by. Here’s an overview of the game from its App Store description page:

A fast-paced, frantic shooting game where ducks pop up and down faster than you can say Jiminy Cricket (who’s Jiminy Cricket?). Tilt the iPhone or iPod Touch to aim and tap anywhere on the screen to shoot.

I’ve only spent a short while trying the game out, but I like it so far. I’m finding its tilting to aim function a little awkward to get the hang of, but starting to get used to it now and scaring a few more ducks. 🙂
