I just don’t see the iPhone app as a gateway to a full, very expensive Bloomberg subscription. They would be much better off if they charged for the application, as would most content providers with iPhone apps.

I couldn’t disagree more with your recollection.

There were doubters everywhere. No 3G, No copy & Paste, No Carrier Choice, $599 price, No Keyboard, No Voice Dial, No 3rd party Apps, Apple = no experience in cell phone market, AT&T = evil.

The iPhone becoming a smash hit was doubted by MOST ‘in the industry’.
