Well, it ‘d be good to make sure. IMAP is pretty awesome “ unlike POP3 it ‘ll auto-sync your inboxes so that items you read on your desktop will show as read on your iPhone as well.
If you ‘re using POP3 (which is the default when tapping the Gmail button in Mail) then you ‘ll have to mark emails as read separately on the iPhone and desktop. If you ‘re confused about the whole process, let this 1-minute guide speed you on your way to IMAP. Enjoy!
