iPhone + Twitter = Dynamic Duo for Citizen Journalism

Earlier today, when a US Airways plane crashed in New York, the first photo of the rescue scene was posted by Janis Krums – via Twitter on his iPhone while he was aboard one of the first rescue ferries.

MSNBC later interviewed him as a witness. Thankfully, TV reports say that all on board survived the crash.

It’s often pretty difficult to explain Twitter to those who haven’t tried it (or even some who have) – but this is definitely an example of how much impact it can have during major events.
