I agree though that hopefully a bit of serious competition – on the design and ideas front at least – will hopefully push Apple to do more. I’d love to see their efforts focused that way …

It’s okay to copy multi-touch capabilities from Microsoft Surface but when someone else copies it they claim it’s theirs? From a patent stand point this might be all true but time and time it makes me question their business practices. I do hope that Palm does well, it might just make Apple take note and start improving the iPhone instead of preventing innovation.
