First Ever iPhone Game Gets Reincarnated, Now in App Store

Lights Off – which was the very first iPhone game way back in the early, early days of jailbreaking – has been reincarnated and has made it to the App Store. TUAW has given the new version a look and seem to like what they’ve seen:

It does look a little different, but the new version has been redone from scratch, and has added in some sound effects (even though you can’t hear them in the video above). If you liked the game then, you’ll probably like it now, too.

They’ve got a good video demo of the app up as well – see the link below to check it out.

The original Lights Off was developed by Lucas Newman, one of the leading early jailbreak devs, who even produced an Unofficial iPhone SDK, back in the days when Apple touted web apps only. He ended up getting hired by Apple, in a role that has him involved with relations with the iPhone development community.

It’s always good to see a classic jailbreak app make it across to the new world of ‘legit’ apps. You can find Lights Off in the App Store now, at a price of $1.99.
