Hurrah! – it is now possible to get emoticons in your iPhone SMS messages without jailbreaking. I’m not a big texter, so this news is interesting, but not super-exciting to me (my hurrah was one for the team I guess). Have a feeling it may be big-time happy news to many folks though.
Apparently there’s a new $0.99 app in the App Store (a Japanese RSS reader or similar) called frostyplace (search for it and it’ll turn up, with a Japanese name). Once it’s installed and played with a bit, it lets you turn on a setting that gets you tons of shiny, happy emoticons to play with in all your texting efforts.
