iMob Online – Going from Weakness to Weakness
iMob Online – one of the first online MMORPG games for the iPhone – is continuing to have problems, and (at least for me) even greater ones of late, making the game virtually unplayable.
It has had chronic connection problems over the last 10 days or so – including an inability to pull up two of its essential screens (Fights and Pending Invites, to strengthen your mob numbers), failure to connect on launching the app and bombing back to the home screen, and assorted network errors in various places in the game. I’ve experienced these issues myself and seen them reported on forums and elsewhere.
Over the last few days, it seems like things have got even worse. I recently found that my mob numbers (mobsters affiliated with me) dropped from 294 at the very end of Level 15 to 1 (one!) at the outset of Level 16 – and could see no explanation for it at all. This issue corrected itself after a couple of days – but even so, WTF? For those couple days, I was right back at square one.
As soon as the mob numbers problem fixed itself, I’ve discovered another one. My energy level now will not rise above 1. It just sits at that level, which of course also leaves me lame and unable to complete any jobs.
I had been enjoying iMob a fair bit when it was working, but as that is less and less often lately, the delete action is getting very tempting. Are any of you playing iMob actively? Having good experiences?

Hey Patrick,
I’m not trying to steal visitors away from you but I wrote a post on iDB where iMob and Mafia Online players can connect and exchange codes.
The post is at http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2009/01/23/join-iphone-download-blog-mafia-family/
This post links to 7 other posts related to these 2 apps. So far, I think I’ve had over 800 comments from people exchanging codes across the 2 games. I don’t play the games myself (I don’t play games much) but I thought it would be nice to centralize everything in one place.
Let me know what you think.

Sebastien – I’m fine with that. Have seen various forum threads exchanging numbers as well …
I’m in the same boat with the errors almost causing the delete function. Energy fix, open iMob and then put your phone on standby without closing the app. I did this one night to test it and my energy was filled. I’m a developer and I don’t see what’s so hard to make this error free. Thinking about switching to the paid Mob game.
KruelDevil – Thanks for the workaround suggestion. I may give this a few more days to see if they make this work, then I’m out …
The biggest problem with iMob is you can't transfer the acct to a new iPhone. I have 7000 mobsters and billions and will no longer play imob when I get my new iPhone because I do not wish to start over. Why won't the developers make this game Accounts transferrable??
I gave up on this game long ago. Really have no idea what the latest is from its developers.
