CubeCheater is another of the many iPhone applications that just leave you shaking your head at all the amazing things you can do on this device, and at the ingenuity and brilliance of iPhone developers.
As the name implies, it’s a Rubik’s Cube solver (in 20 moves or less). Here’s a little more detail from its App Store description:
CubeCheater solves everybody’s favorite 80’s puzzle. Just input your cube’s state and CubeCheater will show you how to solve it … CubeCheater finds optimal or near-optimal solutions in only a few seconds …
One of the slickest features of the app is that when you need to feed in your cube’s current state, you can do so by tapping in the cube’s colors on its faces, or you can just take pictures and let the app recognize the colors for you! (this camera feature is not available on the iPod Touch).
There’s an excellent video demo showing off the recognition feature and giving a complete walk-though, concluding with a 6 move solution.
