New Apps: FaceDouble Tells You Which Celeb You Look Like

FaceDouble is a new iPhone application that offers to help you find out which celebrity you (or others) look like. You can use any (not too high resolution) photo in your Photo Library in the free version of the app for celeb-matching purposes – and it will analyze the pic and come back with your celeb lookalike.

There are 3 versions of FaceDouble – the free one (which I tried out), a full version for $0.99, and a Plus version for $1.99. I’m not 100% clear on the differences between full and plus versions.

The free version seems OK. It correctly found Nick Nolte, from a web-downloaded pic I had of his infamous mug shot, as you can see in the screencap above. I also tried with web-downloaded pics of Don King and Brett Favre, but it was pretty far off on those. I could not get it to accept any photos of myself (which is probably a very good thing) – as it suggested using a lower resolution photo each time I tried.

If you fork out for the full or even Plus versions, you can also feed it higher resolution pics to use for matching, and take new pics for use as well.

I guess part of the charm of the appeal of the paid-for versions is you can take a snap of a friend (or even a stranger) when you’re out and about and then find who they remind you of. I’m not enough of a ‘who do you look like’ fan to stump up for the paid versions.

If you are, these apps are in the App Store now.

Have any of you tried this out yet? If so, who does it say you look like?
