Whoa – Gmail Does Tasks, and On iPhone Too

I really need to pay more attention to some of Gmail’s more powerful features. I’m a very non-power user of it right now, and I had not realized at all that Gmail lets you manage tasks as well.

Well I’ve just learned that it does, and that it’s now got a brand new iPhone optimized interface that looks (as per usual with Google’s iPhone efforts) very good indeed. In other words, I’ve just been introduced to Gmail Tasks on the iPhone.

To access Gmail Tasks on the iPhone, you just go to http://gmail.com/tasks in Safari. The UI is clean and easy to use – and of course everything you do within Gmail Tasks on the iPhone will stay automatically in sync with the version in your desktop Gmail.

To add Tasks to your desktop (browser) Gmail go to Settings > Labs – and select the radio button to enable Tasks.

Things is my current favorite tasks manager, and I like it tons. It boasts a lot more features than Gmail Tasks currently has for sure.

If you’re a heavy Gmail user though, and don’t need lots of bells and whistles when managing tasks, this Gmail offering could be right up your alley – a simple and free solution is always welcome.
