Novelty Apps – Need a Guard Dog for Your iPhone?

iGuardDog is a new novelty iPhone application that offers to protect your iPhone for you when you have to set it down somewhere.

Are you tired of your co-workers, friends, family and significant others picking up your iPhone every time you lay it down and wasting your battery playing games? iGuardDog was made for you. Just set the arm button and those that dare to pick it up will know it was a bad idea …

What happens once the ‘Arm’ button is set and the phone is picked up, is it shows a video of a large dog barking agressively, along with some bold text advising the intruder to ‘put it down’ – the dog is made to look like several dogs as the video continues and offers further warnings to put the phone down.

I like this app, think it’s a good laugh – and I’m keen to try it out on my daughter and see her reaction.

According to the App Store page for iGuardDog, the developers will be donating 10% of all proceeds to the ASPCA and other local animal shelters – a good cause.
