Here’s a new iPhone app that is perhaps the other end of the spectrum from full-featured digital wallets – it’s SpongeBob’s Atlantis Treasures. There are several SpongeBob related apps in the App Store (so he’s not really just hitting the store now) but this one is the second in a series from Nickelodeon, makers of the SpongeBob TV show and a lot of other popular kids TV content.
The game “follows SpongeBob and his friends as they search for treasure in five challenge-based rooms in an Atlantean fortress.”
Fortunately for me, SpongeBob has never really been encouraged or been a big hit in our house – we have a daughter, and from what I’ve seen with my brothers’ kids etc., boys are much more into him. So anyway, I think we’ll be passing on the iPhone incarnations of Bob as well.
What did interest me in reading about this release is that Nickelodeon is apparently planning to release several more titles throughout this year, including a Dora The Explorer game. Now, that is one that will get some definite interest from my little one – as would other character-based games centered around Nick Jr. shows.
If you’ve got SpongeBob fans in the house – or you are one yourself (scary) – you can find SpongeBob’s Atlantis Treasure in the App Store now, at a price of $3.99.
