I recently posted about the superb Death Cab for Cutie iPhone app – the one that made me think *every* band should have an app just like it. Shut Up is an app from the same developer – Jeremy Schoenherr at Our Beautiful Faces – which is just a little less ambitious, and the lead vocals on it are maybe a tad worse as well. 🙂
Shut Up does one thing, and does it 50 ways – or at least has around 50 variations on it. It tells you, or whoever speaks, to shut up. It says ‘shut up’ and ‘shut up bro’ in one of its 50 various ways – from low and lighthearted sounding to louder and more firmly, and so on.
It also has a ‘charming little animation as well, reminiscent of dr. katz’s squigglevision‘ that adorns the screen while the app is open.
You can set it to trigger whenever someone speaks, or also when the face is touched on the screen, or only when touched. You can also configure its sound sensitivity – so a voice has to register louder in order to trigger it.
This is a fun little novelty app – not one that will be a long-term keeper, but good for a giggle. It made my daughter laugh.
If you want to check out what the ‘shut up’ demands sound like and hear a little more about the app, you can check out a YouTube demo video HERE.
Shut Up is available now in the App Store, at $0.99. Oh, and there are two apps with this same name, so use this link to make sure you get the app described here …
