Seems like just the other day the App store hit 10,000 apps… Then 15,000 Apps… Now, Apple’s App Store has hit and exceeded the 20,000 mark. As you can see from the chart above, the number of daily releases seems to be following an exponential curve. The 20,000 achievement is quite striking, especially when you consider at the App Store’s launch, only a few hundred apps were available.
Perhaps it’s the ‘boom’ of all of these ‘fart’ apps that has fueled the fire behind developers butts. (sorry, yes I had to word it like that). But seriously, if a simple idea like that can reap huge profits, developers are more and more looking for simple $0.99 apps to pump into the store.
If the above chart continues to trend as it has, we should see 30,000 apps by sometime in early March.
