If you run a web site (or more than one) or are involved in one and interested in following traffic stats, visitor information, and all that other good data that Google Analytics shows you, then Analytics App could prove a nifty new tool for you on the iPhone.
I had read someone saying the other day (cannot remember who or where) that they liked viewing reports even better on this iPhone app than within their desktop browser. At the time, I thought that was likely an exaggeration, but it made me interested. Now that I’ve been using Analytics App for a few days, I take back all my suspicions of exaggeration. I find myself delving farther into stats with this app than I usually do on the desktop.
Read on for some more details on this app’s many features …
Here are some of Analytics App’s features:
- Works with multiple sites and logins with multiple accounts
- Lets you customize the date range applied to reports, easily via a spinner tool
- Reports show up to 100 rows of data
- Includes 29 reports and unlimited custom reports you can create in Google Analytics
I haven’t tried out the Custom Reports capabilities yet, as I’ve got more than enough to chew on in the standard reports so far. I’ve seen most of the other major features though, and really like this app.
My only wish list item right now is that I’d like to see some of the information in the Top Content and Content by Title reports displayed better. For my site at least, blog post titles are too long for its display and are truncated – to such a degree that it’s not always possible to see which posts are included in the listing. I’d like to see these spread across two rows, or displayed in a smaller font, or whatever needs to happen to make all titles readable.
Analytics App is out now in the App Store, and costs $5.99. There are several very similarly named apps in this area, so just to be clear the one I am referring to in this post is the one with the icon shown in the screencap just above this paragraph.
