Dataviz’ Documents To Go beta for the iPhone has apparently been getting demo-ed at a mobile industry trade show this week. Documents To Go (DTG) has offered viewer and editor apps for MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint docs, as well as .pdf files, on Palm OS and Windows Mobile for years.
Presumably their iPhone app will allow editing capabilities on these file types as well, which is a long-awaited feature we’ve not seen yet on iPhone. Screenshots of the demo are said to include copy/paste icons as well – which would be more than a little interesting.
Still no word at all though on when DTG may get into the App Store. It’s been an awful long time that an iPhone version of this app has been talked about. Maybe they need to hire some 9 year olds to move this along towards launch. 🙂
My own experience with DTG on a Palm Treo was horrendous. To say the program was unstable is a huge understatement. If I sneezed the app froze and hung up the whole device. So I’ll be very interested to see this app whenever it launches, but my expectations may be lower than others’.
