Giving Up on iMob Online

I’ve been playing iMob Online less and less lately, as the sheer scale of the cheating in the game is demoralizing. Today I’ve finally deleted the app – as it seems pointless to carry on when the cheaters have clearly ruined the game for anyone who is playing ‘straight’.

For a better idea of what I’m talking about, have a look at the screencap above – the top leader’s number on the ‘Kills’ board is a TEN digit number! On the ‘Banker’ chart, for as far as I can scroll down, the leaders’ numbers do not even fit on the screen, chopping off after an amazing 16 digits.

The developers’ site has a few posts up on efforts they are making to combat and penalize the cheaters. They’ve even offered non-cheaters a few (40 I think) free respect points recently.

In my view, this is way too little and way too late. It’s been many weeks that the blatant and absurd levels of cheating have been common knowledge. Cheaters should have been barred, or stripped of all their money / kills etc, or segregated from non-cheaters – in this much time, some far stronger actions should’ve been taken.

But they haven’t and I have no faith that they will – and with ridiculous numbers like those highlighted above, there’s no hope for anyone playing by the rules – so I won’t invest any more time in the game.

I made the iMob home screen icon an offer it couldn’t refuse a little while ago …
