Podcast downloading on the device was an improvement, but I think the feature is still half baked. I’d really like my iPod app to tell me when a new podcast is available. I don’t need it to download the new podcasts, but I can’t see why it couldn’t check for new podcasts at a regular interval so that I could live almost entirely free of the desktop iTunes client. I’ve got push google contacts and calendar and have IMAP gmail. The only things tying me to the desktop at this point is my media — and if I could somehow auto subscribe to podcasts on the go that would be a real boon.
Anybody know of a way around this manual downloading on the iPhone in the meantime?
