CBS has launched an iPhone app called TV.com that lets you view streamed episodes of many of its most popular shows.
The app offers quite a few popular shows from the main CBS network, as well as shows from the CW, Showtime, and even CNET TV (for tech product reviews and such). Here ‘s just a few of the shows featured in the program:
- CSI: Miami
- CSI: NY
- Cold Case
- Dexter
- Gossip Girl
- Star Trek: The Original Series
- How I Met Your Mother
- America ‘s Next Top Model
- Letterman
- The Amazing Race
Not all the shows offer full-length episodes yet, but hopefully the content on this one will be ever-expanding.
TV.com has a simple and easy to navigate interface “ laid out pretty much like a typical news application, with a bottom nav bar containing buttons for:
Home – featured content
Shows – to browse through and check out your faves
Channels – the main stations covered “ CBS, CW, Showtime etc
My Feed “ lets you create a custom list of videos based on your own favorite shows, channels etc “ just by adding keywords to this screen ‘s top bar. Like this feature a lot.
I tried out a handful of shows including some old Star Trek: The Original Series episodes “ and these worked well. They load fairly quickly over a WiFi connection (have not tried via a cellular connection) and seem good enough quality to me.
I like TV.com so far “ and can only imagine it getting better as its content library is filled up.
You can find TV.com in the App Store now, and it ‘s a free app.
