Uncertainty Surrounding Renewal of iPhone Developer Contracts

A year ago developers were the first who could sign up for the iPhone Developer Program. After a transfer of $99 you had the right to sell applications via App Store. In other words, you had the right to offer applications at Apple for approval. The first contracts with developers are coming to an end, but Apple doesn’t seem to have an solution to extend the existing contracts. In some cases there are developers who transferred already $99, but still wait for approval.?? “Developers are losing it”, said one of them against AppleInsider. “Our business contract, submitted about december last year, is still not approved after more than two months.” Some developers receive a standard mail with excuses. Others receive nothing at all.

Erica Sadun discovered, after a call via the Apple Developer Connection that Apple is aware of the fact that there are still many more developers who still don’t have a contract or their contract is about to end. Because of that it’s very difficult to continue with the development of applications: you don’t even know if you’ll be able to submit your application at the App Store.
