The big story on the wires this week, on eBay there sits an auction for an early prototype of the iPhone. The neat thing is that it runs on the prototype OS. eBay has been known for it’s weird auctions and fake sells, but this one seems legit.
The seller has two of the prototypes, one with a matte screen in working condition and one with a glass screen that doesn’t work. Both of the phones have no etching to indicate what they are or how much space they have, which should bump up the value quite a bit. There seems to be many problems using the phones since only one works and it doesn’t even work fully. The working phone can call and receive calls like any other phone, but it cannot send text messages, only receive.
The auction is currently at $2000 for both phones and two soft cases with 52 bids. So if you don’t even know what a recession is and have enough money to own a nice piece of history, then get your butt over to the listing and bid away, you only have one day and twelve hours until the end of the bidding race.
