This is one of those application that I hope everyone that owns an iPhone will download. Its Free and I can not think of a better reason to download an application.
Here is the description from the app store:
“Amber alert is the official iPhone AMBER Alert and Missing Child Alert tool for the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. AMBER Alerts are issued whenever a missing child case is granted the high-risk AMBER status and has been used to aid in the recovery of missing children. The iPhone app provides a real time feed of active AMBER alerts including victim and suspect photos and information, direct phone numbers to police precincts, and a reporting mechanism allowing you to report a sighting or get directly in touch with the hotline.”
The report tool will use your GPS information to more accurately track sighting and the reporting feature is integrated into the app.
The one big feature missing in this version is push alerts. As of now you have to open the application and connect to get an AMBER alert update. I am sure they will be trying to add this is a future update.
