Apple has reversed their ridiculous decision to reject the Tweetie 1.3 update, and the update is now available in the App Store.
It ‘s not clear whether the massive amount of criticism the decision received yesterday played any role in the reversal, or whether this is just another case of one Apple reviewer having a totally different view to another. In any case, Apple still has a lot of work to do to make App Store approvals and rejections start making sense.
All that aside though, the Tweetie update looks good. It adds the ability to use ‘RT ‘ syntax for retweets (which many users had been asking for), two more alternative services for posting pictures (in addition to Twitpic), the ability to see full-size profile images, a dark theme, Ping.fm integration, and lots more. Some of the details are shown in the screencap above.
I ‘m glad to see Tweetie worked past the approvals process stupidity quite quickly. It has been my favorite iPhone Twitter app for some time, and it ‘s good to see another solid update for it
