Third Party Remotes in the Works for the New iPod Shuffle

With the release of the new iPod Shuffles today, some (including me) immediatly thought, “Wonder if I don’t want to use the Apple’s earphones?” There isn’t too much information right now but it does appear that third-party adapters are in the works.

So, for now it sounds like you’ll have to live with Apple’s earphones, or simply not upgrade to the new model. The 1 gigabyte model is still available, however, the 2 gigabyte model is being discontinued.

I think this is uncharacteristic of Apple. No buttons, an odd control scheme,proprietary headphones and an unusual time of the year to release the darn thing. The only thing simple about new iPod Shuffle is it’s slick new body.
