Sure enough, right after doing a post on some March Madness related apps for iPhone yesterday, I spotted a couple more interesting ones late last night.
The first one has a very long name, but looks like a must if you ‘re going to be on the road / away from a TV for many of the tournament games. It ‘s called CBS Sports Mobile: NCAA March Madness On Demand “ and it will provide live streaming (via WiFi ONLY) of every single game in the tournament “ from the first round right through the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, and the Championship game!
It ‘s a $4.99 app and is in the App Store now “ and games will start being streamed when the tournament kicks off on March 19th.
The second interesting looking Madness app I noticed is BracketCast NCAA 2009 “ which looks like a great app for helping you with your picks for this year. Here ‘s a slice of its App Store description:
Get the edge on all of your friends or win the office pool for the NCAA basketball tournament with BracketCast, powered by AccuScore. AccuScore is the most accurate sports forecasting company today that supplies statistics for ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!, and many more. BracketCast downloads simulations from the AccuScore server, providing you with statistics generated from over 10,000 simulations for every game. With the touch of a finger you can simulate the tournament and see how your favorite team will perform.
For now, the app only shows the 2008 bracket. Once the selections are announced this Sunday, it will start using this year ‘s data.
You can check out BracketCast NCAA 2009 in the App Store now as well, and it costs $0.99.
Seems the range of Madness apps for the iPhone are starting to cover all the bases now. I ‘m sure a few more will pop up between now and the tourney ‘s opening tip “ but I ‘m beginning to have a good feel for which ones I need
