Some days Twitter is full of fun and trivial stuff whenever I glance at it. Other days, like today, it ‘s full of useful information and cool new people to follow. Today has already provided a wealth of news and good information “ and one of the cool new people / sites I started following is @ radtech (thanks to a tweet from @ McCarron “ an iPhone dev for MobileAge, and the creator of the superb Blackjack 21 game).
I ‘d heard Radtech ‘s name before today, but couldn ‘t have told you a whole bunch about them. As soon as I clicked to follow them I spotted one of their tweets announcing they were going live with a series of iPhone replacement parts for upgrading / repairing both 1st gen and 3G iPhones (including replacement batteries).
They ‘ve got a good range of replacement parts on offer “ from batteries (and the tools needed for use when replacing them) to home buttons, rear panels, front bezels, to speakers and camera and even all the components for iPhone screen replacement.
I haven ‘t followed the replacement parts market for iPhone at all “ but the RadTech prices seem reasonable enough to me at first glance – $24.95 for a 3G battery sounds not outrageous at all, for example.
I was hoping they might offer to do the repairs or upgrades for you as well “ but it seems that is not a service they provide as yet.
If you ‘re thinking about any replacements or upgrades for your iPhone, check out the RadTech site if you have a chance, and let us know what you think. You ‘ll find their iPhone section HERE
