Something for the Duke University student, alumni or just plain Blue Devil fan here. Duke University has launched their very own ‘DukeMobile’ iPhone app. The app gives you quick and easy access to information on the university wherever you are.
Use the map to search buildings on campus, pinpiont them on the map and see your relative location. Handy if you’re on campus and need directions.
A built-in directory lets you search Duke faculty, staff and students. Easily look them up, store their contact information right on your iPhone, and email or call them at your leisure.
The events section keeps you up-to-date on student events on campus. Check out the student calendar and event locations for upcoming shindigs.
One of the more powerful and important areas of DukeMobile is the Courses section. Use it to access the entire Duke course catalog. Handy if you’re simply thinking of applying/attending the university, or helpful for those that are and are trying to pick out courses. Full descriptions, times and locations are listed for each and every course… And of course you can plot the location of the course on the map, or tap to contact the professor. Very cool.
Finally, probably one of the most popular features of this app will be the athletics section. Use it to stay on top of Duke sports news with schedules and up-to-the-minute scores for Blue Devil games no matter where they happen to be taking place.
Many additional features are being worked on for this app, including dining locations, times and menus… Online class registration, campus bus schedules, ‘DukeCard’ balances… and much more.
