Restoring with an unofficially loaded iPhone is a pain in the keister, so having a backup solution like this would be pretty nifty. Kudos to RipDev, I suppose. I would use InstallerApp for backups.

It *does* jailbreak your iPhone in order to be able to install JB apps, just as I thought. Ripdev should make that clearer on their page too.
