Rumors are beginning to fly at an ever faster pace regarding Apple’s new UI (User Interface) for Snow Leopard.
The new User Interface, rumored to be named “Marble” will replace the rapidly aging “Aqua” User Interface. AppleInsider reports:
People familiar with the matter say the next developer build of the software will unleash some of the biggest changes to the next-gen OS since Apple first previewed the software to developers at last June’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
So in a nut, the next developer build of Snow Leopard may, or may not, have the new “Marble” user interface included.
Apple themselves said Snow Leopard was strictly “Under the hood” point update. Meaning all improvements to the OS would not be directly noticeably to the general public and aimed more for developer market. This to me sounds about right, but they still need something to sell to non-developer customers. What better way to do that than a brand new look and feel?
Snow Leopard is the next incarnation of Apple’s Mac OS X operating system, and is expected for release sometime this summer.
