Love the amount of free content (Gutenberg stuff etc) that it offers. Have got both Stanza and Kindle on my phone at the moment …

I can use Stanza to transfer almost any kind of text (PDF, epub, pdf, etc.) to my iPhone, but you can only transfer Kindle stuff to a Kindle reader.

It's interesting that Apple still gets beaten up for using DRM on iTunes, but nobody seems to criticize Amazon for locking up its Kindle books. This is a much more intrusive form of DRM, I think, since you can't read Kindle books on ANYTHING but a Kindle (there's not even a reader you can install on the Mac, AFAIK.

Ah, well. I read books all the time on my Stanza, and when Apple comes out with its netbook, well, I'm thinkin' about it.

Stan

I also read the journal of this guy who tried getting a US acct from the Netherlands and then messed up all of his updates for every app (although I guess updates are messed up right now anyway — but his was worse)

thanks for the heads-up though! glad it's working for you. Better Canadian app store support would be better though! *HINT HINT APPLE*

I got a US account with a US$ visa from TDCanadaTrust. I just use an address from a friend in the US. Also you can get a US account with a US gift certificate.
